Cheeky chickens

Chickens can be incredibly cheeky. They each have their own personality but some can be very sassy and act like they own the shed. You can tell when a chicken is being bossy when they stick their head out and peck at the other chickens.

Big, bad chickens

Chickens aren’t the sweet, cuddly animals you might think. Sometimes, chickens argue and fight with each other in the shed. Chickens that are lower in the pecking order also need places where they can escape to. But each shed has ways of keeping the chickens entertained. There’s litter (bedding material) and bales of alfalfa (a plant that they like to eat), as well as blocks to peck at, which they enjoy.

Did you know that a chicken can recognise between 60 and 70 other chickens?
